Nobel Biocare has launched NobelActive, designed to condense bone during insertion unlike conventional self-tapping implants. The lack of National Health Service (NHS) dentists in the UK is driving more people to check into hospital with abscesses, according to recent findings published in the British Medical Journal.
Themed 'Dental diversity in the land of tomorrow' the 2007 FDI World Dental Congress was key, not only for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Middle East, but for the world, as thousands of international delegates registered to attend. "We are confident that the overall turnout will likely be one of the largest in FDI history," said Dr Michèle Aerden, President of the FDI, at the official launch of the congress.
The Centre for Evidence-based Dentistry was established in 1995 as an independent body that promotes the teaching, learning, practice and evaluation of evidence-based dentistry (EBD) worldwide. Based at Oxford in the UK, the centre was one of the first of its kind in the world.
